Fries Carton Dieline Generator

Fries Carton

Fries Carton is the classic scoop pack for fries and snacks: a tall back panel, a lower curved front, and side gussets that fold in as the carton opens, so the top splays wide and the contents show. This generator draws the one-piece band — back, gussets, front, the bottom flaps and the glue seam — from the top size and back height you enter. Just add fries.

Fries Carton Dieline Guide

This generator makes a fries scoop carton dieline: the curved-front pack used for fries, wedges, wings and snacks. Enter your size and download the dieline free as PDF or SVG.

What is a fries carton?

A fries carton is a tapered scoop: narrow at the bottom, wide and open at the top, with the front cut lower than the back so the food is visible and easy to grab. The shape is not decoration — the wide mouth, the curved front and the tall back are what let a carton of fries stand on a tray and advertise itself.

The structure here is a single band of four panels: back, gusset, front and gusset, closed by a glue flap. Each gusset carries a diagonal crease; when the band is glued into a loop and the bottom flaps are folded in, the gussets fold inward and the carton pops into its splayed shape. The back panel's top edge is a gentle convex curve, and the front edge dips in a concave scoop.

Common fries carton sizes

A is the top length (the front width), B is the top width and H is the back height. The front rim comes out at about three quarters of the back height, and the base is smaller by the built-in taper.

Size (A × B × H)Typical use
3.9 × 3.0 × 3.9 in (100 × 75 × 100 mm)Small fries or kids portion
4.9 × 3.3 × 4.5 in (125 × 85 × 115 mm)Regular fries
5.5 × 3.7 × 5.1 in (140 × 95 × 130 mm)Large fries or loaded fries
6.3 × 4.1 × 5.5 in (160 × 105 × 140 mm)Wings, nuggets or sharing snacks

How to make your fries carton dieline

  1. Enter the top size: A is the front width, B is the depth and H is the back height.
  2. Set the Inside size toggle to match how you measured. On is usually right for a food portion.
  3. Choose the material thickness. Fries cartons are light board, usually 0.45–0.55 mm paperboard.
  4. Adjust the glue flap if your printer prefers a wider seam, then click Refresh to redraw.
  5. Save as PDF or Save as SVG, fold a test carton, and check it stands flat and the scoop opens cleanly.

Print and assembly tips

Glue the seam flap, fold the deep bottom flap in first and the shallow one over it, and the carton body is done — the gusset diagonals do the shaping. The back panel is your billboard: it is the tallest face and the one customers see in a photo, so put the brand there and keep the front low-profile.

In the exported file, red is the cut line, green dashed is a fold and blue dotted is a perforation. Print at 100 percent scale. Hot, salty food wilts thin board quickly, so for delivery orders choose the thicker end of the paperboard range.

Why is the front lower than the back?

The low curved front is the scoop: it shows the food and lets customers reach in, while the tall back supports the pile and carries the branding. The front rim is drawn at about 76 percent of the back height.

How does the carton get its splayed shape?

Each side gusset has a diagonal crease. When the glued band is opened and the bottom flaps are folded in, the gussets fold in along those diagonals and the top splays open.

What closes the bottom?

Two flaps: a deep flap under the front panel folds in first, and a shallower flap under the back panel folds over it. They can be glued or left friction-fit for light snacks.
