Display Box Dieline Generator

Display Box

Display Box is the open counter display, also called a PDQ or dump bin, that holds small products upright on a shop counter: a tall back panel that works as a header card for your branding, a floor, a low front wall, and shaped side walls that slope down from the back to the front so customers can see and reach the products. This generator draws the whole display as one flat blank with side glue flaps, ready to fold and glue. Enter the width, the floor depth and the back height, and the front wall and side profiles are drawn for you.

Counter Display Box Dieline Guide

This generator draws a counter display box as one flat blank: back panel with header, floor, front wall and two profiled side walls with glue flaps. Enter your size and export the dieline free as PDF or SVG.

What is a display box?

A display box is an open tray with a tall back, designed to sit on a counter or shelf and sell small products at the till. The back panel rises above the products as a header card, which is where the brand and price message goes. The side walls are cut on a slope, high at the back and low at the front, so the stock is visible, and the low front wall stops packs sliding out.

This design is drawn as a single blank. The back, floor and front wall are one vertical strip, and a side wall is attached to each side of the floor and front wall, shaped to the display profile. Small glue flaps on the front and bottom edges of each side wall glue to the front wall and the floor to lock the shape. The front wall height is a quarter of the back height, with a minimum of 25 mm.

Popular sizes

A is the width of the display, B is the floor depth from back to front, and H is the back panel height including the header.

Size (A × B × H)Typical use
7.1 × 4.7 × 5.9 in (180 × 120 × 150 mm)Confectionery, mints and till point items
7.9 × 5.9 × 7.1 in (200 × 150 × 180 mm)Snack bars, sachets and small packs
9.8 × 7.9 × 9.8 in (250 × 200 × 250 mm)Cosmetics and personal care displays
11.8 × 7.9 × 11.8 in (300 × 200 × 300 mm)Pharmacy and general retail displays

How to create your dieline

  1. Enter the display size: A is the width, B is the floor depth and H is the back panel height. Leave header room in H above the top of your products for the branding.
  2. Set the Inside size toggle to match how you measured. On is usually right, because the floor must fit the products and the generator then adds the material thickness.
  3. Choose the material thickness. Displays carry stock all day, so corrugated board is the usual choice for all but the smallest sizes.
  4. The front wall height and the side glue flaps are set automatically, so there is nothing else to adjust. Click Refresh to redraw the dieline.
  5. Check the side wall profiles in the preview and the sheet size in Cutter Info, then Save as PDF or Save as SVG. Fold and glue one sample and load it with products before a batch.

Printing and material tips

A display earns its counter space in the header, so keep it clean: logo, product name and price. Make sure H leaves that header visible above the tallest product in the front row, or the branding hides behind the stock.

In the exported file, red is the cut line, green dashed is a fold and blue dotted is a perforation. Print at 100 percent scale, score the floor lines, and glue the side wall flaps on the inside faces so the outside of the display stays clean. The side walls carry the shape, so let the glue set before loading products.

Frequently asked questions

What is a display box used for?

A display box holds small products upright on a shop counter or shelf, open at the front so customers can see and take them. The tall back panel works as a header card for branding and price messages.

How high is the front wall?

The front wall is a quarter of the back panel height, with a minimum of 25 mm. That is high enough to stop packs sliding out and low enough that products stay easy to reach.

Is this display box dieline generator free?

Yes. It is free, with no signup and no download limit. Generate any size and export it as PDF or SVG.

What material should a display box use?

Corrugated board, such as E or B flute, is the usual choice because the side walls and floor must carry stock without sagging. Small, light displays can use thick paperboard. Fold and load a sample to test your stock.

Are the side walls included in the dieline?

Yes. Both side walls are drawn in the blank, shaped to the display profile with 12 mm glue flaps on their front and bottom edges. Glue the flaps to the front wall and the floor to lock the display together.
